Maybe this is what life is. I kind of think it is. It’s simple. And heavy. And we have moments where we can’t walk. And moments we feel like we can fly. And we dream and we worry if those dreams are too crazy. And we keep taking the next step. And then all the in-between moments where we wonder what to eat next, and if two naps in a day are okay. And then you eat a cookie that has the most amazing texture and suddenly you feel like life is perfect just the way it is.
Thank you for answering the question of "How're you doing?" because I've been wondering and wanting to ask it too. I think being brave is often times simply facing day-to-day life and dealing with whatever it throws at us. What you've gone through with your dad is huge, and all the ups and downs you're experiencing are okay. Some days might feel almost normal while other will be harder than heck, and that okay too. I've learned the kindest (and maybe bravest) thing we can do is to give ourselves--and others--the gift of grace.
